About Guided Futures

Guided Futures is a mentorship and educational support program dedicated to empowering underprivileged students and young adults by providing the guidance, exposure, and resources they need to achieve success. Our mission is to create a structured pathway for academic, professional, and personal growth, ensuring that every participant—regardless of their background—has the tools and support necessary to navigate their future with confidence.

Founded and led by Warren Rolling, a dedicated mentor and youth advocate with over 10 years of experience in college admissions, mentorship, and educational programming, Guided Futures is built on a deep understanding of the challenges students face. With extensive experience working in the New York City Department of Education and CUNY system, Warren has helped thousands of students access higher education and career opportunities. His leadership ensures that our program provides meaningful support tailored to students’ unique needs.

Through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and access to industry professionals, we help students from underserved communities gain opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Our program offers GED preparation, tutoring, and academic support to ensure students graduate from high school and successfully complete a four-year college degree. We are committed to breaking barriers to education and creating pathways to career success.

At Guided Futures, we are more than just a mentorship program; we are a community committed to uplifting the next generation. Whether through college readiness, career exploration, leadership development, or personal growth, we are here every step of the way—helping students stay on track, graduate on time, and build a future filled with possibilities.

Guided Futures is more than just a mentorship program—it’s a transformative movement designed to uplift Black and minority communities by strengthening one of their most critical pillars: education. York College, a predominantly Black and minority-serving institution, has long been a space of opportunity, yet many students face challenges in retention, graduation rates, and career advancement. Guided Futures is stepping in to change that by ensuring these students don’t just attend college but thrive in it and beyond.

For far too long, Black and minority students in underprivileged communities have had to navigate the complexities of higher education without the necessary support systems in place. Many come from families without a history of college education or professional mentorship, leaving them to figure out financial aid, course selection, and career paths on their own. Guided Futures is here to break that cycle by offering mentorship, hands-on career exposure, academic support, and financial literacy programs to empower students with the tools they need to succeed.

The impact of this program will be felt across the entire community. By helping York College increase its retention and graduation rates, we are investing directly in the future leaders, business owners, and professionals of Queens. A thriving Black and minority student population means a stronger local economy, more role models for younger generations, and a community that is equipped with educated professionals who reinvest in their neighborhoods. It means students won’t feel like they have to leave their community to succeed—they can build their future right here in Queens.

More than just an academic program, Guided Futures is creating a home for students who have often felt overlooked. It is fostering a culture of success, resilience, and pride, ensuring that Black and minority students have a space where they are valued, supported, and given every opportunity to excel. Through this initiative, we are not just helping individuals—we are shaping a future where Queens becomes a national model for how mentorship, education, and community investment can transform lives.
