Mission Statement for Guided Futures
Guided Futures is a transformative mentorship program designed to empower students with the tools, experiences, and support they need to excel academically and professionally. We believe that exposing youth to diverse opportunities helps them discover their talents, build confidence, and overcome challenges. Through mentorship and hands-on engagement, we guide students to reach their potential and positively impact their communities.
We prioritize hiring recent college graduates and trade professionals as mentors, creating a dynamic cycle of inspiration and growth. As we launch York College as our pilot school, we’ll provide scholarships, stipends, and dorm accommodations to alleviate financial burdens and help students focus on their education.
Our program includes one-on-one mentorship, career-aligned internships, work-study opportunities, and personalized guidance to navigate the college journey. A new headquarters near York College will serve as a central hub for education, mentorship, and career exploration. The facility will offer resources like GED prep, financial literacy workshops, and hands-on experiences in fields like music production, robotics, health sciences, and entrepreneurship.
Guided Futures will also provide life-changing experiences, including site visits to top organizations like Netflix, Google, and Tesla. These visits give students insight into potential career paths while equipping them with real-world skills in business, finance, and more. By addressing local educational challenges and offering comprehensive support, we aim to prepare students for successful futures.
Long-Term Vision
As Guided Futures grows, we envision securing a 10-year capital contract for our headquarters and implementing additional initiatives to support underserved students. We also aim to expose students to an even broader array of career paths, including:
